National Library Week
Lives Change @ your library
April 13-19, 2014
This week, Blackwater Regional Library joins libraries in schools, campuses, and communities nationwide in celebrating National Library Week, a time to highlight the value of libraries, librarians, and library workers.
Today’s libraries can help you and your family discover a new and exciting world. Visit your library for computer resources, help with your job search, access to subscription databases, library-recommended websites, and homework help. Libraries are an oasis if you are looking for recommendations on the best books or e-books to expand your horizons.
To celebrate National Library Week, Blackwater Regional branches will be holding programs, contests, and our biannual Fine Free Week.
For our Fine Free Week, from Monday, April 14th through Saturday, April 19th patrons can bring in their overdue items and the library will waive the associated fines. Please note that previously existing fines, fees for damaged or lost materials, and accounts in collection will not be waived from patron records. During our last Fine Free Week in October, approximately 638 items were returned saving the Library and patrons thousands of dollars.
Take a look under your bed, couch, or car seat for any library items you may have forgotten to return. Items can be returned to any Blackwater branch.
