Basic Computer Class
Intimidated by your computer? the Smithfield Library is currently offering basic computer classes for adults. Registration is required. Please call the library for more information or to register.
Knit At Night (Twice Monthly, 2nd Tues. & 4th Wed. - 7:00 pm)
The Knit At Night group meets in the Community Room of the library. The informal group members bring their projects and share expertise and interests. Although the concentration is on knitting and crocheting, all crafters are welcome.
Come and join in the fun!
Family Movie Night (July 8 - 6:30-8:30 pm)
Come in your jammies (optional), bring a friend (and a pillow, if you wish) and join in the fun as we screen the movie 'Bedtime Stories'. We'll have popcorn and treats! A great way to spend a summer evening!
Book Club (July 16 - 1:00 to 2:00 pm)
The July selection is 'Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet' by Jamie Ford. Library Journal says 'Ford expertly nails the sweet innocence of first love, the cruelty of racism, the blindness of patriotism, the astonishing unknowns between parents and their children, and the sadness and satisfaction at the end of a life well lived...a vivid picture of a confusing and critical time in American history.' Please join us for a lively discussion.
Woodburning Workshop (July 18 - 10:00 am & 1:00 pm)
Just for the Guys!! Woodburning workshop. Chay Bell of Bear Graphics will be here to help you learn all about the cool craft of pyrography.
Two workshops will be held at 10:00 and 1:00 and are limited to 10 boys each. Ages 8 and up. Registration is required. Call 357-2264

Molly's Life On the Home Front (July 25 - 11:00 am to 3:00 pm)
An American Girl Event--Molly's Life On the Home Front. Come enjoy a fun-filled day at the IOWC Museum
and the Smithfield Library. Be at the museum at 11:00 and learn about Molly's life during WWII through crafts and music. Then after the program, head over to the library at 1:00 for a brown-bag lunch, "Shirley Temples", and popcorn to watch the movie Molly, American Girl on the Home Front. Admission is free to both events, but registration is required. Call the IOWC Museum at 357-0116 and Smithfield Library at 357-2264. for girls in K-5.
