Volunteer Amber Parlett will lead 4 workshops on how to use iPads. Each workshop will be held twice (in consecutive sessions) in order to both reach people who may not be able to make the first date of a particular workshop and also so that those who were still uncomfortable using the iPads after the first workshop can refresh their memory before attending a workshop at the next level.
The 4 workshops will be at varying skillset levels. Ex: The first is the basic beginners workshop that will answer questions such as “where is the power button?” “What is meant by the home screen?” “How do I adjust the volume?” The second would be a bit more in-depth, such as: how to find and use specific applications and check wi-fi settings.
Each workshop would span about 45 minutes of lecture time, with a 45 minute question and answer period to help participants with specific issues they may be having while trying to navigate the system, and to give users time to gain experience using the devices.
iPads will be provided for the session, but must be left on library property at the close of the session.
Open to any age group, but focused on older teens and adults.
